Nachdem 1969 John Lennon sich von den Beatles getrennt hatte startete er eine Solo-Karriere. Zusammen mit seine Ehefrau Yoko Ono engagierte e sich gegen den Vietnamkrieg.
Lieder wie Give Peace a Chance 1969 und Immagine 1971 sind wohl die bekanntesten Antikriegslieder die John Lennon und wurden zur Hymne der amerikanischen Antikriegsbewegung.
